October 12 to 16th:
Looks like I will finially make my seccond trip to Lima. It will be a quick trip coming down early morning the 12th through the evening of the 16th. Hope to catch up with whoever might be there as well as meet some of you local guys from the Spainish forum who are a big help to us in the English forum with our questions.rbc100

I want to try out [Solo usuarios registrados pueden ver este link ] -- that's a spa that I haven't yet visited, and I think it sounds pretty good in the Spanish forum. Maybe we can pick an afternoon that works for everyone -- it's easier to talk in a Banos Turcos than at a club.

Of course, a trip to Scarlet is always in order, too.

I'd like to meet both of you guys too. Only problem is... I'm a day creature and a very busy one at that. I use to go to [Solo usuarios registrados pueden ver este link ], but only saturdays around 4:00pm or 5:00pm. If that is O.K. with you we could meet there, or meet in Miraflores an I'd drive us all there.

Otherwise, I'd still like to meet with you any given day at around 7:00pm if only for coffee and chat anywhere in Miraflores.

One palce I difinitely want to try new for me this trip is Scarletts. See you guys there. Just got word this morning one of my freinds who frequents Costa Rica will be in Lima staying at Maria Luisa which is where I will likley stay.rbc100

It looks like I **may** have a situation. The civilian that I have been talking to called me yesterday and told me that she quit her job and is going to Mexico City to work in November, so she will have PLENTY OF TIME TO SPEND WITH ME IN LIMA. I tried to gently explain that I was looking forward to spending a couple of days with her, but I will be doing things alone (casinos, I said) or with my friends the rest of the time.

She said, "No problem." When you are done with your friends, call me. I will come over." Just like every other Latina I have ever dealt with. God help me, how do I get into these messes?

Well, there's still a month to go, so we will see what happens. If I have to be a real bad guy, I will. I have a new cell phone and new number, and she doesn't know where my apartment is, other than in Miraflores.

But that's my problem. Let's start now -- El Emporio at 4:30 on Saturday, 14 October. Sign up here.

RBC100: You've been asking about Sonia (the restaurant).

If we manage to meet to go to El Emporio on saturday, I will be able to show you the place so you can go on Sunday. It is in the way to El Emporio... more or less.

Just bear in mind that peruvian seafood, especially cebiche, is for lunch. Never for dinner. Your stomach might disagree with cebiche for dinner.

Bad news for me on upcoming trip. Due to some personal developments back home I am going to have to cancel my upcoming trip at the last minute. Thanks for all relpies to my questions and will be coming likely in January and put all my research to use. Those of you who make it have a blast.rbc100

First - GREAT board. Culturally, it may be the best monger board I've yet to lurk upon.

Some of you may know me from CR and DR boards, where I occasionally post. Have been to the DR about ten times, and to CR 3-4 times -- and today I booked my first ever Lima trip.

Believe it or not, it was a 50th birthday gift from my wife of 28 years. No, she's doesn't KNOW I monger. It's kinda like the "don't ask don't tell" thing (from the Clinton years... minus the gays in the army part).

Anyway - my spanish skills are pretty decent, and I get more adventurous with each trip. Bear with me if I pose specific questions in the coming months (after having RTFF, of course). Hope to hook up with a few of you when in town. Gracias!
