We pull up, and I recognize the building as a hotel that has been closed for all of my previous visits. They cleaned the place out, spruced it up, and hired a million employees in Radisson shirts to help you. Two guys unloaded my two bags from the taxi, one guy opened the door for me, and four really cheery people checked me in at the front desk.
The room was pretty standard, although it did sport a 31” flat screen TV. Although there was a desk (and they gave me a cable for the internet connection), there was nowhere to put anything. The desk wasn’t all that big, there was no real dresser to speak of, and the mini-dresser that was there (half mini bar and just two drawers) had the TV on it. If you’ve got a flat screen, hang it on the wall, damn it. There were absolutely no flat surfaces available one I set up my computer. And to make it worse, the two side tables did not have drawers, either, so there was no handy condom/lube spot. The AC was good and quiet and the room was clean, so I figured that I would make do.

We get back to the hotel, and the front desk tells me that there is a 90 Sol ‘guest fee’. This is outrageous, especially for Lima, the most girl-friendly place on earth. I agree to pay it, but I’m not happy.

I walked [my date] downstairs and put her in a taxi. On the way up, I stopped at the restaurant for breakfast, and they refused service because I was wearing shorts (at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday). I was the only customer in the restaurant, so whose senses would I have been offending? I'm glad that I'm leaving.
I got back to the Radisson, finished the last of my packing, and checked out. I wasn't hallucinating; the hotel did charge me 90 Soles (plus 10% service charge) for each of my guests. The staff was very nice, and I didn't want to break their hearts, so I told them that I would be staying with my friends for the rest of my visit.
