| lima part 1
ok gang..
here is what I am sure most will find another boring travel report..
a few weeks ago I realized I could take a week off..and I have wanted to go back to lima since I had not been there in a few years
I started searching for flights and decided to check out the lauderdale/lima flight by Spirit airlines..
the NON-stop flight with a big front seat was $538..leaving lauderdale at 515pm arriving lima at 955pm..the return flight leaves lima at 1055pm arriving back in lauderdale at 54am
I booked the the flight..
I have a few other reasons for going to lima this trip..when I say other I mean other than to just be a whoremonger..
one reason is... a friend of mine who lives in buenas aries is going to be in lima the same week I have planned..he is very fluent is spanish and it will be good to visit with him..
another reason is...I am a few years away from retirement and I am very interested in buying an apartment somewhere in south america ...lima may be as good as a place as any to retire..so while I am with a friend who is fluent in spanish ..this will be a great chance to look at apartments..
so lima here I come..
when I booked my ticket online it would not allowed me to print my boarding pass since it was an international flight
I arrived at the lauderdale airport at 3pm for my 515pm flight..
and the LINES for spirit were as long as I have ever seen..the end of the line was out into the street..
I figured since I had no bags to check I would get to go to the front of the line.
WRONG!!
so I went to the end of the line and stood in the hot sun for 20 minutes..finally after an hour wait in line I got my boarding pass...
my seat was in the first row so when the plane began boarding I was in no hurry..all I had was a carry on bag and by the time I boarded there was no room in the overhead area for my bag so I had to check my bag after all..
the flight was uneventful, no food was served..only water..if you wanted a soft drink or a can of pringles you had to pay for it with a credit card..no cash was accepted ..if a passenger has no credit card he/she will be on a strict water diet for the next 5+ hours..the flight arrived and landed on time..but I will not fly spirit again for awhile..they just started the lauderdale/lima route and my guess is they had no idea the amount of baggage they would have going to south america..I have flew to several south american cities and I am always amazed at the amount of baggage the latins bring..I am still waiting to see a guy carry on a kitchen sink because they seem to be bringing everything else...
my friend, who I will call Mario had arrived in lima a few days before me and had the hotel reservations all made..we traded emails and he began to give me the rundown about lima via email before I arrived.
he had called a girl he found on lolitas.com..he tells me she is fantastic..I told him if she has any friends have her ready the night I arrive...I figured I would have plenty of time to find other girls once I arrived and got settled in..he wrote back and said "no problemo" he will have a girl at my room the night I arrive..I also told him to get me 200 dollars worth of soles and I would pay him when I arrived
the flight arrives on time and imigration was a breeze...then I had to wait 20 minutes for my once carry on bag to make it to baggage claim..damn I hate checking a bag..
my friend had also arranged and paid for a taxi to pick me up at the airport and there was a taxi driver standing there with a sign with my name on it..
I arrived at the nido inn around 11 and was starved..so before I even unpacked we went to a chifa down the street and got some food to bring back to the hotel..while there, we exchange the money less cab fair he had already paid and he begins to tell me about the girl he has found..he said he likes her so much he is gonna bring her back to argintina with him!! so I ask about the girl he has picked out for me he says he does not know anything except she is a friend of his girl..
when we got back the girl were waiting..the girl for me was NOT a girl I would have chosen myself..but I was hungry and horny so she was gonna have to get the job done..
the room I had reserved was TINY...but it was also gonna have to do for the night..
the girl sat on the bed while I scoffed down fried rice..
then we both showered and had an un-eventful session..it was ok but I will not see her again..
paid her 150 soles and sent her away around 2am and slept..  |
