Some days, it's a toss-up: Girls or Grub? Luckily, Lima offers both!
Two of my favorite restaurants are Astrid y Gaston and La Mar, both owned by my hero, Gastón Acurio.
I understand that he owns/runs some other restaurants in Lima, too. Can anyone tell me where the others are located? I **think** that there's one in San Isidro, but I'm not sure.
Thanks in advance.

Hey RT there ´re more restaurants in Lima owned by him and the names areTANTA and DON PAQUALE. One is located in Av Primavera in a county called Chacarilla and the other is newest located in SAN ISIDRO,where you can find a lot of varieties of peruvian sandwiches. Gaston´s food is awesome and he is an excelent cheff and bussiness man.

There is a new Tanta in Miraflores. It's on the point/corner of Reducto and Av. 28 De Julio. It's right across the street from Cafe San Antonio which also is a great place. San Antonio's Cafe Americanos are amazing.
RT here. After two inspections, I can confirm that the food at Tanta is outstanding.
Is Asia de Cuba one of his, too?
Thanks.
Asia de Cuba, is not his restaurant (popular branch in NYC) as he only has restuarants in Lima and Spain right now. He is opening up 3 new A&G's in San Diego,San Francisco & I believe LA next year.
As if life isn't good enough, the folks at the Larco Museum were smart enough to recognize food as art and have allowed Sr. Gaston Acurio run the restaurant at the museum.
Cafe Del Museo runs very similar to T'anta in feel. The selection is somewhat more limited, but the food and service were impeccable the day that I was there.
The museum is pretty good, too. They had quite the display of Peruvian artifacts going back about 3,000 years. The museum's admission was 25 Soles. I was given the option of wandering alone (there were paragraphs in English on the walls here and there) or taking an optional docent as a guide. They had no English-speaking women, but I made mine speak slowly, and between my 1st grade Spanish and the English notes, I understood what I was looking at. I wound up tipping the tour guide 30 Soles for the two hours of her time (the tip was descretionary -- the guy who sold me my admission ticket suggested 20 Soles).

Thanks for the info RT. The last time i was in Lima i wanted to visit this Museum but run out of time. I will not miss it on my next trip. And now that it has a Tanta cafe makes it more inviting.

Astrid & Gaston
Last month I went with a lady friend to Astrid & Gaston. The food was exceptionally good as well as the quality of the attention from the staff.
The total bill for two Pisco Sour, two apetizers, two main courses, two desserts and a bottle of peruvian white wine (Tacama - Blanco de Blancos) was a little more than $100.00 (S/.340.00 actually); and worth every cent of it.
