Embarcadero 41 has been on my radar for years, and I have just never had an opportunity to stop by.
Until last October, anyway. And it turns out that I wasted a couple of years by not going here.
What finally pushed me over the edge was the big sign in the street proclaiming that they won the award for best Causa at the most recent Mistura festival... that was enough for me.
I met one of my buddies for lunch, we ordered enough food for three people, and he watched me devour 2 and a half portions.
We started with the award-winning Causa Embarcadero. In an age where you can find anything inside or on top of a causa, this was more or less 'classic' -- the stuffing was what we would call crab salad, and it was topped with onions and some vegetables. Delicious.
Next up were grilled Scallops, served smoking hot and slightly seasoned. And we ended the entire foodfest with the mixed seafood grill, consisting of grilled pulpo, shrimps, swordfish and (normally) calamar. They were out of calamar, so they added a mess of extra shrimps. You can't really see them in the photo, but they were under the octopus.

To say everything was delicious would be an understatement. There was nothing fancy going on here, but everything was fresh and cooked to perfection.
The total tab (including a water and soda) came to 104 soles. That's a little high for two people, but there was enough food for three.
I will certainly not make the same mistake and wait a few more years before returning here. You should learn from my error and visit on your very next trip.
