William Wallace Johnstone (October 28, 1938?February 8, 2004) was a prolific American author, mostly of western, horror and survivalist novels.

Born and raised in southern Missouri, Johnstone was the youngest of four children. His father was a minister and his mother a school teacher. He quit school when he was fifteen and worked in a carnival and as a deputy sheriff. He later served in the Army and, upon returning to civilian life, worked in radio broadcasting for 16 years.[1]
Johnstone started his writing career in 1970, but did not have any works published until 1979 (The Devil's Kiss) and became a full-time writer in 1980. He wrote close to two hundred books in numerous genres, including suspense and horror. His main publication series were Mountain Man, The First Mountain Man, Ashes and Eagles and his own personal favorite novel was The Last of the Dog Team (1980).[1] He also authored two novels under the pseudonym William Mason.
Johnstone had lived for many years in Shreveport, Louisiana, yet died in Knoxville, TN, at the age of 65. His death remained officially unconfirmed for nearly three years and was the subject of continuous debate in the forum on his web site. No statements were issued, however[2][3] until the 2006 paperback release of Last Gunfighter: Devil's Legion, which, on its copyright page has, indeed, confirmed that "William W. Johnstone died" and that a "carefully selected author" has been chosen to carry on his legacy. J. A. Johnstone is continuing William W. Johnstone's series.

If the 20th century was the American century, the 21st century may be a time of reckoning for the United States. Chalmers Johnson, an authority on Japan and its economy, offers a troubling prognosis of what's to come. Blowback--the title refers to a CIA neologism describing the unintended consequences of American activity--is a call for the United States to rethink its position in the world.

"The evidence is building up that in the decade following the end of the Cold War, the United States largely abandoned a reliance on diplomacy, economic aid, international law, and multilateral institutions in carrying out its foreign policies and resorted much of the time to bluster, military force, and financial manipulation," writes Johnson. "The world is not a safer place as a result." Individual chapters focus on Okinawa (where American servicemen were accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in "Asia's last colony"), the two Koreas, China, and Japan. The result is a liberal-leaning (and Asia-centric) call for the United States to disengage from many of its global commitments. Critics will call Johnson an isolationist, but friends (perhaps admirers of Patrick Buchanan's A Republic, Not an Empire) will say he simply speaks good sense. All will agree he is an earnest voice: "I believe our very hubris ensures our undoing."

This is a high resolution edition of The Complete Calvin and Hobbes. The torrent contains a PDF file bookmarked by year/month/day with every Calvin and Hobbes comic from its debut on 11-18-1985 through its conclusion in 12-31-1995. In addition, all individual comics are included as individual images. All images are 1600 pixels wide and in PNG format. There's also a sample PDF file that includes the introduction and the first couple months of comics for anyone who wants to take a peek without downloading the full 500MB+ PDF.

The images are upscaled but most look very nice. I didn't look through all but it seems like the older ones, in the sample, are the "worst". Later ones look even better. Download the sample first and take a look so you don't come crying about your precious bandwidth later because one of the images didn't meet your high standards.
