Good morning. RT here.

I was trying to understand the recent discussion on the Spanish board about Tequila Rock.

My Spanish stinks, so I might be way off-base here. It looks like the discussion is mostly centered around the apparent drop off in chica beauty at Tequila.

But then in this post, I **think** the writer mentions a TR location in San Isidro.

Can someone please go next door, look over the thread, and summarize it for us? Thanks.

Hi RT.
You are right, that's the center of the discussion. Somebody mentioned a Tequila in San Isidro, but I don't know anything about it. I 0nly know two tequilas, the one in Miraflores and the one in La Marina Avenue.
About the Tequila in San Isidro, I guess it will be open soon instead.

You've got it right RT.

The Tequila was once the place where you could find the most beautiful independent "working girls" in Lima. Back then, "ugly" girls were not allowed to enter. The administration knew what the girls were up to, but did not care as long as they atracted customers and encouraged liquor consumption. Some years ago, legal action was taken by INDECOPI, a branch of goverment involved with the defense of consummer's rights, against some Discos, Restaurants and Night Clubs that refused entrance to some "native peruvian looking" (cholos) and black (negros) would be customers, either male or female; they were accused of racist practices and heavily fined.
Since then, the Tequila lost control on the "quality" of the girls entering and there are many forum members who regret that, which is the main subject of the thread you were reading. A lot has been written on that drop off in girls quality (not 0nly in beauty but also in behavior) including some comments by a former, supossedly A-1, working girl (kine) who is now married and retired. The loss on girl quality, however, has happened some years ago; so if you have visited the Tequila in the last, say, two years, you will find it just as you remember it.
Curious thing is that, according with forum member anubian_alpha_king, who is very obviously related to the Tequila administration, "ugly" girls are the most sought after by tourists. I guess that there is nothing written on tastes, and that some girl who, for us, is just an ugly "chola" for a tourist might be an "exotic beauty".
The reference made by anubian_alpha_king about a Tequila in San Isidro, is clearly written in future. It implies that the Tequila owners are about to open a new disco and wishes that the new place will be just as good as we all wish it to be.

It's funny that you mention that. There are indeed some very beautiful women at Tequila Rock, some very pretty, some pretty, and some (how do I say it) not so beautiful.

Of the half dozen times that I have taken women from this disco, I would rate three as very pretty, two as pretty, and my most recent as average (but she was all over me in the club, and promised a good time -- she delivered). In a disco situation such as TR where you can talk to the girls and get to know them before making your buying decision, I usually value a pretty girl with a good attitude over a drop dead gorgeous one who is more of an 'ice queen'.

If I can spend some time in the club with the girl and have a good time, I almost always have a good time in the cama. I don't have that advantage with the girls at the saunas or the ones that advertise on sites like ChicasTops. In those situations, I just go for body type or a well-reviewed girl.

As a tourist, I wouldn't say that we go for the 'ugly' girls. It's just that the really beautiful ones know it, and they are a little more stand-offish.

They are actually in the process of opening two new TR's. I believe one in S.I. and the other in centro.

Sunday is the best night to go to TR-SM. There are alot of regular girls and working girls(on their night off) available for pickup. You will still see "gringo's in the know" but far fewer than TR-Miraflores.

The main problem with the Miraflores location is since they changed the hours at Pizza street alot of the SW's are working TR and last time I was there they had many underaged girls.

Now! This is a VERY GOOD TIP! As far as I know, sunday nights are among the lowest in Lima's night life, along with monday nights. Some joints close earlier on sunday nights (monday dawns), some won't even open on sunday. I thought you were talking of saturday nights (the highest point in Lima's night life); as I said, this is a very good tip. THANKS!!

While "Chica Beauty" is a relative concept all my friends report no drop off in beauty.

The problem has more to do with the night and hour at which you go and the # of tourists/sailors in town. I was there(miraflores) about three weeks ago and there were quite a few stunners! One of my friends took out an absolute "10" and proceeded to keep her off the market for 3-4 days.

Typically when it is slow at the "high end clubs" you will have girls coming over to TR. They will try to get $80-$100 but depending on the # of guys, will quickly drop to $40-$60.

I agree 100%. Out of all the different situations I've experienced around the world (never been to Asia), I think Tequilla Rock has the best combination of variables. With low to no entrance fee, reasonably priced drinks, a good enviroment, and great looking women that are independent so they keep everything you give them, I think you get more value here than anywhere else. The thing that I like most about Tequila Rock is the fact that a lot of girls in there are not full Pro's but Amateurs that look for some extra money. I have been in contact with one of the girls and she gave me her real name, address and home phone number. She wants to stay in touch although she knows that I am on the other side of the globe and chances that I will visit in the near future are quite small (who knows though). So for the GFE experience, you probably have a much higher chance of finding it in Tequila Rock than in the Soapies and the drinks at tequila Rock were cheaper than at Las Cuccardas.

You probably right but what I mean is that there is nothing the disco can do to bring beautiful girls into the place, the place as it is, is making money and the owners doesn't care anymore they will have at the end of this year around 6 discoteques.

...then I am indeed talking dollars. In general, anything with a dollar sign ("$") in front of it is U.S. Dollars. The symbol for Soles is "s./".

But the point I was making in the above post is that yes, you wind up paying more, but the extenuating circumstances (at least in my opinion) often make the higher prices worthwhile.

I was in no way questioning the price you paid RT, just trying to figure out price points my man. I've read so many reports and people switch back and forth between soles and dollars in descriptions and it becomes confusing!

Yeah, it does.

The good news is, it used to be worse. On my first trip, I went into the supermarket, and 3/4 of the stuff was priced in soles, but some of the items were in dollars (and they were all mixed up on the shelves). Also, the Ripley's in Miraflores liberally mixed in dollars and soles on their pricing (one rack of shirts was in dollars, and the one right next to it in soles).

Thankfully, the supermarkets are all in soles now. I haven't been in a Ripley's in years, so I don't know if that still goes on.

As a rule, the 0nly places that I've been quoted prices in dollars has been Tequila Rock, and once or twice from girls working Pizza Alley. The Starbucks stores and the supermarkets put both prices on their receipts. For the most part, soles are the currency, but just about anyone takes dollars as payment.
