This is the highest exchange I have gotten since my first trip to Lima, ten years ago. That's great for those of us that show up with dollars, but not so much for my friends that live here and get paid in Soles.

This is no April fool's joke. The rate went as high as 3.48 about a month ago. Then the rate took a nose dive to 3.30 and has hovered in the low to mid 3.30s the past few weeks.
