Restaurante Piano Bar El Cascajal

I had not heard of this restaurant until RT and I decided to meet there for lunch. They specialize in Peruvian “comida criolla” cuisine. The place is casual, has to levels and a stage in the back (there is music and dance shows on Fridays and weekends). I arrived at 1:30 p.m. and an attentive host offered me a table and a free appetizer while I waited for RT. The place was 0nly half full at that time. I sat and waited close to the entrance, near the buffet stations. The buffet is separated into two main stations: the appetizers (with the desserts nearby), and the hot entrees station. There were plenty of choices of appetizers and hot entrees, including soup (parihuela).

I found the food tasty and the pisco sours were good. The service was excellent. They were very helpful both at the table and the food stations (more than one employee asked me if everything was ok).

This is a good place to take your date for lunch and enjoy Peruvian music and a dance show (Fridays, weekends), and it’s 0nly about a 10 min. taxi ride from Miraflores.

What did the meal cost? Worth the price?
RT here.

30 to 55 soles, depending on the time of day, day of the week, and if you buy a package that includes a pisco sour or two. Also, there are some promotional coupons on their webpage that bring the price even lower... take a look.

Worth it? Sure. Is it the best buy in all of South America? Of course not, but for 11 to 20 dollars, you won't leave feeling all ripped off.

I would repeat, but 0nly if I went (with a date) when there was a show.

Also, you're 0nly a block from the Hotel Los Mirtos, in case the date goes REALLY well! :D
