Well, since I've been here in Lima I've seen a gradual decline of the dollar versus the sol. 2.57 was when I first got here in December down to 2.53 two weeks ago. Recently it has bounced back to 2.57 again but long term everyone is looking at 2.25-2.30 by end of year.

Yesterday I got 2.59 soles to the dollar;let's hope it keeps up.

COMMENTS: Can't change money there, but you can pay for stuff with dollars. Usually, they have a very competitive exchange rate, so this was surprisingly low. Also, they deliver, if they can understand your Spanish (655-0000).

COMMENTS: Much higher than anywhere else I've seen. We were cashing out our chips when we saw the sign, and we just handed them all the dollars we had on us. They didn't bat an eyelash, even though we were clearly not doing this to gamble.
